The urban underground holds untapped potential beyond infrastructure. Often overlooked, it can be reimagined as a vibrant space that enriches life above. We propose an experimental transformation: an extension of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts built below ground. Through light, materiality, and human-scale design, we rethink the subterranean, not as dark or distant, but as a bold new layer of the city.

MASS PLAN

In order to develop a design process, this project has been conceived as an architectural narrative, a story.

CROSS SECTION
The exploitation of the subsoil is an ongoing process that unfolds across various phases. It entails continuous experimentation aimed at creating a system conducive to life and human activities.
